2018年 “外研社杯”全国英语写作大赛yl7703永利集团赛区通知

根据湖北省高等教育学会大学外语教学专业委员会通知，“外研社杯”全国英语写作大赛2018年赛事现已启动，为继续深入推动全院英语学科学习风尚，培养锻炼学生英语写作水平，院大学外语教学专业委员会决定根据相关文件通知要求特举办全院2018年“写作大赛”院级初赛，现就竞赛具体事宜通知如下：

一、      参赛对象：

全院本、专科二、三、四年级均可报名，专业不限；

二、      参赛形式：

1. 写作大赛分入围选拔赛和院级复赛；

2. 请有意参赛的选手根据以下入围赛题作文，于8月29日20:00前发至以下指定邮箱：

zhixingwaiyu2013@163.com （非英语、商务英语专业）

zhixingwaiyu2014@163.com （英语、商务英语专业）

  同时请在邮箱内提交以下报名信息

备注：年级请按照“大一、大二、大三、大四”填写；

      作文请以word文档形式 附件上传

      格式：字号 times new roman；字号 小四；行距 单倍

      未按要求提交信息和附件文档或文档格式不符的作品取消入围资格

3. 选拔赛后，按照一定比例选拔选手参加全院现场写作复赛，时间临行通知；

4. 竞赛将组织专业教师和外籍教师按英语专业组和非英语专业组分别评奖共同完成评奖；

  初赛入围试题分值计40%，复赛计60%，两项合计评奖。

三、      参赛奖励：

院级复赛产生特等奖一名，一、二、三等奖获奖总人数约占全院参赛选手总数的30%。所有获奖选手将获得由大赛组委会颁发的电子版获奖证书，学院另颁发物质奖励；入围赛晋级选手将获得院级优秀奖证书；

四、      院级入围赛试题：

Write an essay in response to the passage below. You should discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the passage and explain your reasons for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the author’s opinion might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position. You should write no less than 300 words.

       Have you realized that living simply can make life less stressful and more fulfilling? By getting rid of all but the essentials, choosing to eliminate clutter and chaos, and spending time only on what is important to us, we have more freedom to live and improve.

       Human beings go astray when they move away from simple living. We are not aware that we have been trapped in the complexity and excess of the modern world. Think about this. Are we as happy as we thought we'd be when we finally possess the many things we wanted? Are we more productive when we are surrounded by numerous inventions and luxuries? Do we have more time for our loved ones when we are chasing more possessions? I doubt it entirely.

       Yes, I am embracing a minimalist lifestyle, a voluntary "poverty" if you like to call it. Get rid of the excess of life and acquire self-fulfillment and inner joy, before it is too late.
